Job Title: Software Engineer Tech Lead

Summary:

Vernovis is currently partnering with a rapidly-growing Insurance company in the Columbus marketplace. They are growing their engineering team by 50% through next year and heavily investing across their platforms and systems.

We are currently helping them fill a Tech Lead position will oversee design, scoping, and implementation of the web apps. They will also work closely with the development teams to add new features and fix bugs. Along with hands-on development, the Tech Lead will also be involved with design patterns, coach younger engineers, conduct peer reviews and provide feedback on system quality.

Responsibilities

• Strong experience in design and development of .NET applications using SQL databases
• Experience with REST APIs and service oriented architecture patterns
• You understand how to design databases to meet the application requirements, understand tradeoffs with database normalization levels, and are able to create and troubleshoot queries and stored procedures
• Partnering closely with engineering team management and business stakeholders
• Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation) and project management skills, including work estimation, prioritization, planning, tracking, and
• Standardize the reporting lead time, and search engine, making sure those two metrics are as healthy as possible for those two
• Sharing latest updates with team and engineers
• Review evaluate the designs and activities for compliance as well as provide tangible to improve quality and mitigate failure risk

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience within .Net
• The Tech Lead needs to be experienced with REST APIs and service-oriented architecture patterns.
• Experience in overseeing design, scoping, implementation, and working closely with development teams to add features and resolve bugs
• Needs experience helping teams create and implement processes to help deliver software efficiently  
• A passion for leading and developing others
